Obituary for Eldon Morrow

Eldon Morrow, age 76 of Andrews, NC passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at his residence.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Lloyd and Alice Graves Morrow. Eldon retired from Baker's Furniture. He loved the Atlanta Braves, Jimmy Johnson and he never missed a NASCAR race. Eldon loved cheeseburgers from the Burger Basket and eating ice cream but more than anything he loved his girls and Cooper.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton, Ralph, Ray and infant brother Robert Morrow; and sisters, Hazel Morrow Reid and Dorothy "Tootsie" Fralick.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melba "Snookie" Morrow; one daughter, Laynette Morrow; four brothers, Glen Morrow and wife Jo of Farner, TN, Howard Morrow and wife Margaret of Blue Ridge, GA, Donnie Morrow and wife Lisa of Copperhill, TN and Kenny Morrow of Turtletown, TN; sister, Pauline Morrow Cain of Farner, TN; grandchildren, Chanteah Jordan, Ciara Payne Gillespie and husband Colin; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Orr and Nevaeh Gillespie; and over one hundred nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. Paul Ray Morgan and Rev. Mickey Stewart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm.

Pallbearers will be David Allen, Brandon Allen, RL Jordan, Justin Derreberry, Lonnie Postell, Steve West and Kevin Bickley.
