Obituary for Annie Louise Hall Canup

Annie Louise Hall Canup, age 92 of Hayesville, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Annie was the wife of the late Marvin Edgar Canup. She was born in Clay County to the late Avery and Maggie Matheson Hall. She was a homemaker. Annie enjoyed reading and doing word search puzzles. She followed her husband during 20 years in the Army. Annie also enoyed her family and her church, where she was a member, at Fires Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sons, Melvin Canup and Gary Canup; a brother, Clay Hall; her sisters, Ruth Volluz, Frances Stout and Mary Jo Swain; two grandsons, Derrick Canup and Tyler Reyes; and a great grandson, Jordan Garcia.

Annie is survived by her sons, Randall Canup (Donna) and Darryl Canup, both of Hayesville; her daughters, Sue Canup of Hayesvile and Priscilla Phillips (Norman) of Murphy; a sister, Willa Mae Long of Hayesville; daughter in law, Michelle Canup; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Fires Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Dallas Crowder will officiate. Burial will be in Fires Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Phillips, Shane Fuller, Casey Canup, Cameron Canup, Corey Phillips and Colby Phillips.

The family will receive friends from 1pm - 2pm at the church prior to the funeral service.
