Obituary for Ralph Alvin Kephart

Ralph Alvin Kephart, age 87 of Murphy, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Ralph was born in Cherokee County to the late Henry and Dovie Dockery Kephart. He worked in the Register of Deeds for Cherokee County. Ralph enjoyed playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, gardening and cutting firewood. He also loved to eat and spend time with his family. Ralph was a member of Hanging Dog Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Curtis Kephart; his brothers, Bill, Sam, Earl, Bass, Oscar and Russell Kephart; and a sister, Mae Loving.

He is survived by his sons, Roger Kephart (Shirley) and Merle Kephart (Missy); his brother, Otis Kephart (Joyce); his grandchildren, Dustin Kephart, Brandon Kephart (Laura), Ashley Helton (Scott), Emily Kephart, Destiny Kephart and Samuel Kephart (Kayla); and his great grandchildren, Hunter Helton, Braylen Helton, Parker Beaver and Joshua Kephart.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Mitchell Shields and Rev. Scott Cole will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy prior to the memorial service.
