Odeen Smart, 96, of Hayesville passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Holt and Mary McClure Kitchens.
Odeen was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in the garden, canning and mowing. She also enjoyed going for rides in the community. Odeen was a member of Ledfords Chapel Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Kitchens; and sisters, Suedean Ledford, and Muriel Stroud.
Surviving is a son, Kenny Smart (Gail) of Tennille, GA; daughters, Joy Swansopn of Hayesville, and Mary (Toosie) and David Davenport of Tignall, GA; grandchildren, Kevin Morris (Ann), Chrissy Peyton (Joe), Allen Davenport (Misty), and Randy Davenport; great grandchildren, Quinton Morris, Morgan Boulineau, Macy Peyton, and Ben Peyton; and a great great granddaughter, Shendan Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2025 at Ledfords Chapel with Rev. Jackie Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Ledfords Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Davenport, Tony Elliott, John Moody, Steven Kirby, Kevin Morris, Quenton Morris, and Quentin Ledford.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Ledfords Chapel prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made In Loving Memory of Odeen Smart to the Ledfords Cemetery Fund.
